twin towns Filderstadt - Selby

Selby is one of Filderstadt’s  twin towns. The twinning agreement was signed at Selby Abbey in November 2002 and at Easter 2003 in Filderstadt’s Filharmonie (congress center) by  the former headmayors Colin Trevor of Selby and Dr. Peter Bümlein of Filderstadt.

The twinning roots began in an existing school twinning conducted by Reiner Enkelmann,  former headmaster of the Realschule Seefälle Filderstadt (secondary modern school), and Brayton High School. It has since been developed into a town twinning under the auspices of the German-British-Association which was founded on 23rd June 1999 on the initiative of town councillor Peter Alderath (Filderstadt).
