Arrival of the guests by train and plane

8/30/2022:

On the way to Schorndorf by public transport. That was an experience in itself - but after several changes, we finally arrived in Schorndorf. After the journey had lasted longer, we strolled around the market for a bit and then went to lunch in the restaurant in the Barbara-Künkelin-Halle. Sven Plug (formerly in the Filharmonie) is now responsible there for hall occupancy and other tasks. After the delicious meal, he spontaneously offered the group a tour of the hall. Then it was on to an interesting city tour through the streets of Schorndorf, ending at the birthplace of Gottlieb Daimler. Due to the very warm temperatures, the groups then spread out in cafes for a delicious drink or an ice cream. The journey home was then individual.

8/31/2022:

The first item on the agenda was the city tour of Sindelfingen by bus. The drizzle couldn't harm the cheerful group. This was also a premiere for many German hosts. Then there were packed lunches on the bus and we continued to the visitor center of the Daimler works in Sindelfingen. There we had to equip ourselves with warning vests and goggles. At the beginning  was a short introductory film and then we were taken by bus to the factory buildings. First in the hall where workers still assemble the blanks for finished cars on the conveyor belt. And then to the production hall where only robots work. Everyone was very impressed with the factory's leadership and logistics of getting each part to the right place.

At evening  was the encounter festival  -  organized by the city of Filderstadt on the occasion of the 20th anniversary. The motto was the 70s. It was great again what disguises the guests and hosts came up with. From the hippie to the dancing star to the goalscorer Gerd Müller, everything was there. The city had organized everything very well: very nice decoration, delicious buffet, speeches on the anniversary and a lecture on the history of the partnership. And finally there was a birthday cake with fireworks. And then the dancing leg was swung.

 9/1/2022:

Today we took the bus again. First we went to the cemetery in Plattenhardt to commemorate our deceased chairman Robert Hertler. Then we drove to the Gasometer in Pforzheim. There the coral reef of the Great Barrier Reef in Australia can be admired in a fascinating 360-degree panorama. By bus back to Stuttgart and for lunch. Afterwards free time for a little walk through the city. At 5 p.m. everyone met again at the wine village. Tables were reserved at the Zaisserei. The mood was great. Then the bus drove us back to Filderstadt - so we didn't have to face a new adventure with public transport.

9/2/2022:

Drive by bus to the TK elevator test tower in Rottweil. In 30 seconds with the lift to the 232 m high platform. The weather was great – the view was almost endless. After a delicious lunch in a hotel, we went on a city tour in Rottweil - the oldest city in Baden-Württemberg. There was also free time to eat ice cream. The drive back to Filderstadt took us through the beautiful countryside away from the mtorway.

9/3/2022:

Leisure time with families: This day was organized individually for the guests by the hosts. Some have met for an extensive breakfast. There were trips to the Swabian Jura and the Black Forest. A visit to the stadium for the VFB Stuttgart game was also on the agenda. In the evening we celebrated farewell in groups.

9/4/2022:

Departure by train and plane It was a really great week. It was a great pleasure to meet again after three years. The invitation to Selby for next year is up. We all hope to see each other again then.
